Abacus Courses for Children in Surrey

The Abacus programme helps children to enjoy numbers, develop their mental skills of concentration, visual memory, listening and builds their self-confidence.

At the age 0f 5-7 Students have learned numbers, and immediately with abacus training, they starts practicing addition and subtraction. This makes them comfortable with numbers and operations from the beginning itself.

Syllabus Description

Age group 4 years to 6 years
Junior Level consists of three Modules.

Students will learn:-

Children are trained to sit with the right body posture – discipline inculcated \Trained for Holding of Abacus & Pencil
1.Introduced to Play way learning creating interest.
2.Children are trained to sit focused with concentration.

In Abacus JUNIOR Program – Children will learn –

(a) Alphabet
(b) Number,
(c) Basic Idea of Addition,
(d) Basic Idea of Subtraction,
(e) Forming of words, etc.
1. Addition and subtraction 
2. Abacus: 1 – Digit ( 3 rows ); 1, 2 – Digit ( 3 / 4 / 5 rows )

Skills Acquired

1. The child would inculcate interest in learning. 
2. Students will start working on Abacus representing the numbers initially a little slowly, the child gains speed encountering     more and more sums, resulting in speedy calculation. 
3. Concentration skills develop due to – developing of interest in learning abacus calculations, need to observe closely sitting     for longer duration of time than the child is normally used to.

*The student should work at home for a minimum of 10 – 15 minutes for practice / learn the skills

Level completion certificate

Children will have to appear in examination after completion of every level.
Students will be issued certificate immediately from the date of successful completion of the Level, after completing the work in the prescribed books. The Junior level would take at least 9 months to complete.

Image Flash

Image Flash is the activity which is done to give larger scope for the students to read beads of the Abacus representing values using which the students could have extended practice and also better assessment of their skills in reading the values of images at a speed. With this students develop skill to read the constantly changing image values, students experience better challenges which ultimately enhance their Visio-spatial memory skills necessary to perform better in doing faster and accurate mental arithmetic skills by the image of Abacus. Speed and accuracy in performing Mental Arithmetic by image of Abacus indirectly reflect their Concentration & Memory skills.

The CI (course Instructer) during Image Flash session alerts the students to concentrate on the activity of reading the values of abacus images. The Abacus trainer would after saying Start manipulates the beads of the Abacus tool to make the students read the images one after the other and write down the number-value of each of such images flashed on the Abacus and they will write the number values on their note books.
